The Omicron Hospitality & Leisure Grant (OHLG) remains open for businesses who have business-rates registered premises in Mendip District and trade in an eligible industry sector.
Eligibility criteria Hospitality - this applies to pubs, restaurants, cafes and businesses where over 50% income is derived from direct in-person hospitality (except food kiosks and takeaways). It excludes food & drink manufacturing businesses and other hospitality supply chain businesses, who may consider applying for the Additional Restrictions Grant instead. Leisure - this applies to venues, tourist attractions, celebratory and entertainment venues. Following updates to Government guidance published 21 January, the following businesses are now excluded from the grant scheme. Gyms, sports centres, sports clubs, indoor riding schools and golf courses. Excluded leisure businesses who can demonstrate a severe impact by Omicron may consider applying for the Additional Restrictions Grant instead. Visitor Accommodation - B&Bs, Guesthouses and holiday lets which can evidence active trading over the past 6 months may also apply for the OHLG grant. Non-rated B&Bs may also consider applying for the Additional Restrictions Grant. Please note that businesses who have already applied may be asked for further evidence in some cases to reflect the new data collection requirements following changes to Government guidance.
